Trade show insurance is liability coverage for businesses that run a booth, stall, or table at events. Designed just for vendors like you, this coverage protects you from third-party claims like bodily injury and property damage.

How Much Does Trade Show Insurance Cost?

Trade show liability insurance starts at $49 per event*. Theft and damage coverage is available for an additional $54 per event to protect your gear during shows.

Insurance Canopy also offers annual policies for as low as $18.50 per month** for businesses that attend multiple events. Your final premium can vary depending on where you’re located, how long you need coverage, and the nature of your business.

Who Needs Trade Show Liability Insurance?

Businesses like exhibitors and concessionaires that operate a table, booth, or stall need trade show vendor insurance. Participating in events and working with the public comes with many risks that can result in big expenses. Insurance can absorb some or all of the financial burden if an accident occurs.

Trade show booth insurance could save you thousands of dollars if you experience any of these scenarios:

A customer trips over an extension cord near your booth, breaking their wrist in the fall. They sue you for their medical bills and lost wages.
Your display tips over and hits the vendor table next to yours, damaging several of their products. They expect you to cover the cost of their lost items.
A customer with a severe nut allergy has a reaction to your banana bread and has to go to the emergency room. Now they expect you to pay for their expenses.

Not only does insurance protect your business, but it also keeps you compliant. Event runners and venues often require vendors to provide a trade show Certificate of Insurance (COI) before they can participate.

What Does Trade Show Vendor Insurance Cover?

Our trade show insurance is a general liability policy that covers common claims like third-party bodily injury and property damage. If somebody gets hurt near your booth or you damage the venue’s property, your policy can help cover the cost of medical bills, legal fees, judgments, or repairs.

You can also add Theft and Damage Coverage (Inland Marine) to you policy for $54 per event. This helps pay to replace or repair your business-essential gear if it’s broken or stolen.

Cyber Liability: covers cybercrime-related claims resulting from ransomware or data breaches
Professional Liability: insures you for claims related to your professional services, such as workshops and classes
Excess Liability: increases your policy limits to cover higher claim amounts

What’s the Difference Between a 1-Day and Annual Trade Show Policy?

One-day insurance is a short-term policy that covers you for a single event. You pay a one-time premium for general liability insurance that covers third-party claims.

An annual trade show insurance policy lasts a full year and covers unlimited events for a single payment or monthly installments. It comes with everything the short-term policy covers, plus additional coverages (products-completed operations and professional liability) and the option to include add-on coverage.

How Do I Add an Additional Insured to My Trade Show Insurance?

You can add additional insureds to your trade show policy at the time of purchase and any time after via the online dashboard. Just follow these easy steps:

Log in to your online account
Locate the “Manage Policies” section
Click “Add additional insureds” to only add one AI, or click “Add unlimited additional insureds” to add multiple (a small fee may apply)
Please provide the information required for the AI
A copy of your policy will be automatically emailed to the added AI
