How Much Does DJ Insurance Cost?
Annual DJ liability insurance pricing starts at $18.50 per month or $192 per year. Although this price might seem expensive, it’s worth it when considering how much money it can save you on claims and lawsuits.
For example, someone could trip over one of your cords or speakers and bruise their arm. They want to sue you to pay for thousands of dollars in medical bills.
How Much Does DJ Liability Insurance for Events Cost?
Event DJ insurance costs start at $59 per 1-3 day event. If you only perform at one or two events a year, this coverage is right for you. However, if you have numerous events, consider the annual DJ insurance price.
How Much Does DJ Gear and Equipment Insurance Cost?
We offer two different policy options and prices for this optional add-on DJ gear and equipment insurance:
- $2,000 coverage per policy year (+$7.50/month)
- $5,000 coverage per policy year (+$15/month)
When you increase per-year coverage amounts for gear and equipment, you also increase the monthly price of this add-on insurance. For example, if you increase your policy coverage to $5,000, the price of the policy will grow to $15 per month.
Note: DJ gear and equipment insurance is only available as an add-on with purchase of an annual policy.
Does Mobile DJ Insurance Cost More?
No matter what DJ you are (mobile, wedding, nightclub, Karaoke Jockey (KJ), or private), our DJ public liability insurance costs are static and inexpensive compared to the claims you could face without it.
Optional add-on gear and equipment insurance can cover the costs of stolen or damaged gear during one of your shows, giving you extra peace of mind so you can focus on your fire tracklist.

The Type of Policy You Choose
Event: Event mobile DJ insurance costs $59 per every 1-3 day event you perform at, which is great if DJing is your side hustle. You can add unlimited additional insureds to an event policy for a $10 fee.
Annual: If you’re a full-time DJ with numerous gigs in a year, the annual DJ public liability insurance costs are better for you in the long run. Plus, we have optional add-on coverage, such as:
- Gear and equipment coverage (aka inland marine) $7.50–$15/month
- Unlimited additional insureds for $10
The Coverage Limits You Need
You can increase coverage limits for gear and equipment insurance from $2,000 to $5,000 total liability aggregate. However, increasing the limits also increases the price of this insurance from $7.50+ to $15+ per month.
Additional Coverage You Want
If you’re an annual DJ insurance policy holder, you can customize your policy with additional coverages, such as:
- Equipment and Gear Coverage: Protect your gear and equipment in the event of loss or damage during one of your gigs. Pay:
- $2,000 coverage per policy year (additional $7.50 per month)
- $5,000 coverage per policy year (additional $15 per month)
- Cyber Liability Coverage: Save on expenses if hackers steal private client or venue information from your laptop for $8.25 per month.
The Size of Your Business
Insurance Canopy’s DJ insurance costs are flexible to your business needs. If you rake in $1 to $50,000 in sales, your policy will start at $18.50 per month or $192 per year. If you make $50,000-$100,000 in sales, your plan starts at $24.33 per month or $299 per year.
